Bases for advertising feather flags

For windier locations (open parking, seaside, exposed terrace), increase to a minimum of 25 kg. Filling a standard water base takes 1 to 2 minutes: capacity ranges from 8-15 litres depending on the model, and can be filled using a tap or a bottle with an adapted neck. The fill cap closes hermetically after filling to prevent leaks during transport. Emptying at the end of the event is equally quick. For winter use, always drain the base after each use to prevent freezing, which could crack the reservoir.

Water-based stands should not be left filled during freezing weather: as water freezes, it expands in volume and can crack the plastic reservoir. For permanent installations in cold climates, drain the stand before the first frost or fill it with suitable antifreeze (a mixture of water + 30% non-toxic glycol works well and remains liquid down to -15°C). For permanent use in very cold climates, a heavy metal stand without liquid is generally more practical.

No, water bases should never be transported when full: risk of spillage, vehicle damage, and dangerous imbalance while driving. Always empty the base completely before any transport, even for short journeys. At your destination site, filling takes only 1-2 minutes with local tap water. This principle is one of the major cost advantages of water bases compared to heavy bases: drastically reduced transport weight (2-3 kg empty versus 15-25 kg for a metal base).
